Intergenerational events at the Isabella Geriatric Center

Updated: Dec 17, 2020

For the last five years, CSFHC has been involved in promoting intergenerational events that

include youths and elders to experience and enjoy holiday traditions. Volunteers from District 6 schools and community youth groups have been organized by CB12M Youth and Education Committee and CSFHC to provide an elaborate performance of dance, song, poetry and much more to the elders in the Isabella Geriatric Center. It is an exhilarating experience whereby everyone joins in singing, clapping and dancing. The elders also get to mingle with the youth as they enjoy a traditional holiday meal. This event is the highlight of the year for our elders and youth. It reinforces respect and giving to others which is of great importance to CSFHC mission. Throughout the years Fe Florimon has initiated many community events supported by the CB12M Youth and Education Committee. We are grateful for their encouragement and support and look forward to continued collaboration.

3rd Anniversary

The 3rd edition of the “Holiday Seasons Youth Performing for Seniors" happened on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the Isabella Geriatric Center. This event aims to promote a positive inter-generational atmosphere between the youth and the seniors of our community. Also, hoping youth’s performances put a smile on the face of seniors.

The annual event is organized by the Community Board 12 Manhattan Youth and Education Committee in collaboration with the Aging Committee.
